Is there a way to turn the compass off? When I set compass to false in config.yml, it still gives the player a compass and when you interact with it it just gives an error in the console.

CreeperFace's answer does work. I've updated my plugin, teamplugin, to work with it and you just have to despawn the player, setNameTag, then use the runTaskLater object to spawnToAll 40 ticks later. The source code is on my github, https://github.com/MrCoderBoy345/TeamPlugin
